If you work in corporate HR, and are looking for an employee volunteering program, mentorship could be the answer (and we have lots of other ways for you to get involved with us).
If you are an expert in your domain and would share your knowledge with our graduates please write to firstname.lastname@example.org. Typically these workshops take place on Saturdays and can last from 1-2.5 hours. Examples of past workshops include gender sensitisation, personal grooming, dance, and software coding.
Our eager youth need job opportunities where they can learn and grow. We have students looking for both full time, and part time opportunities (for those who are pursuing their studies while getting some experience at a workplace). We find taking our students in to a workplace is vital to their understanding of careers. We are looking for partners in different sectors to host these visits. Typically 30 students spend 2 hours at your company, learning the different roles played by your team. Past visits have been hosted by the Bombay Stock Exchange, Westside, and Axis Bank. During our three month CareeReady program, we bring in expert speakers from different industries to explain what they do at their job. An expert speaker talk usually lasts about 1.5 -2 hours. Past expert speakers include a relationship manager at a bank, a sous chef at a restaurant, a school administrator, and a store manager. While Antarang trains its students in soft skills and core employability skills, in order to pursue a career they often need specialized skills. For example, Resonance for early childhood care and development, Loreals beautician course called beautiful beginnings, a bedside assistance course by Pratham. If your company is looking for volunteer engagement opportunities for your employees, consider Antarang Foundation’s mentorship program. Your employees can be mentors to our students and provide them with guidance and advice to enable them to successfully transition into employment, by volunteering two hours every month. Antarang provides support to mentors through an orientation sessions, and regular follow-ups. Every organization is a domain expert in their own field and could provide short workshops for students keen on pursuing careers in your field of expertise. For example, Piramal hosts workshops in basic computer skills at their office where several of their employees gather and work with a group of 20-25 of our students.
